MAC Tough Love Look X

The Mac tough love collection promo has been one of my favourites so far as the it looks very bold with purple and red (two colors of which I love) and as the promo only involves a lip look it inspired me to create my own eye look for this, so here it is :)

Best Coast EOTD X

Lately I've been listening to a lot of best coast and the album cover kinda inspired me today to finally wear make-up and to make it colourful so here it is ... (ignore the untamed eyebrows I'm in the process of growing them out so I can shape them properly)

Barry M 'Vegan' Haul

So I wasn't really looking for new make-up but i'd never tried Barry M before and heard that there stuff was awesome and the cute packaging kinda sucked me in and after looking at these products on the website found out that they were all vegan too just in case that interests any one...anyways on to the review/haul...

At the Barry M counter I picked up the essential products that I use every day Mascara (Intense Black 3-in-1), white eyeliner (white kohl pencil), Eyeliner (Wink black marker pen), a blush (in terracotta) and a lipgloss (toffee).

Barry M Blush in Terracotta (bl6)

The blush looks kinda like a matt bronzer colour in the compact but on my skin it looks like it had deep pink undertones ... maybe thats just me though :S I love his product and find it has amazing lasting power on top of my moisturised skin ( i don't use foundation unless it's needed) and the colour is amazing and doesn't make me look like an oompah-loompa like some drugstore blush/bronzers have made me (don't worry I took them off before i walked out the door and thew them in the bin :P)

Barry M 3-in-1 Mascara

This mascara brush is amazing and doesn't pile the mascara on thick allowing me to build it up and make sure my lashes don't clump and the formula is nice too it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and stays on all day without giving me panda eyes and can be removed easily with some hot water. I like to use this in my lashes too (after I have wiped as much excess as possible off the brush) so I can have madonna eyebrows (not intense black but just slightly tinted) because i'm sort of insane like that :P

Barry M Wink Marker Pen

I had been dying to try this eyeliner out with it being a new product and all and similar to the MAC penultimate eyeliner from the Wonder Woman Collection which I know a lot of people had a hard time using due to the jumbo size and although I have never used MAC's original penultimate eyeliner (the thinner one) I will say I like it jumbo size as I can create a thick cat eye with ease and have more control over

Prom Post !!!

So this post is a long time coming and finally settling with the fact that i will not find a picture of me in my dress on my own (even if i crop, too many hands and people in the way) I have decided to post now (better late than never ?).

Nails!

For some unknown reason this picture won't enlarge but this is just red polish (that i forget the name of) and OPI Black Crackle polish (THIS STUFF IS UH-MAZING).

Hair!

I chose this picture as it's the only picture i have of the detail in the back with the cornrow/ french plait in the side and the curls. I couldn't decide whether to have my hair down or up so i did half of both...well my hairdresser did she also did my nails for me too :D

Make-up!

Sorry about using the same pictures as my previous post but i was in a rush and forgot to get ones on the actual night but it looked exactly the same anyway. My inspiration was twiggy (minus the drawn on false lashes) and makeup used was Active Cosmetics Falsies, DUO eyelash glue, Sugarpill cosmetics love+ and Bulletproof, Too Faced Like a Virgin shadow (for my eyebrows), Beauty UK's liquid eyeliner in Gold (for my eyelashes), MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipstick, Revlon Colourstay foundation in buff, maybelline dream matte powder in rose ivory and Barry M's 3-in-1 Mascara, Wink Eyeliner Pen, White kohl pencil, Blusher (not sure on the shade but it's more of a bronzer colour) and their lipgloss in toffee (it smells so good that I wanna eat it:L|)

THE DRESS! X <3

This was the dress that I wore, ordered from scene dead (owners of the photo) they have the prettiest dresses everr! I paired this dress with a pair of black tights from H&M which had a red seam up the back (I can't find a picture anywhere and i ripped mine so i no longer have them to take one but i love crazy tights recently got some tattoo tights and i'm in love)

Practice Prom Look x

So tommorrow is the day of my prom and i've been busy all week gathering all the little bits and pieces i need to complete my outfit and decided it was time to practice my prom makeup (i was going for a twiggy kinda style minus the drawn on bottom lashes we couldn't get those right) and i'm not gonna take credit for this my mum did it and i'm pretty pleased with how it turned out :D

Revlon Colourstay Foundation Review

After trying plenty of foundations from benefit to clinique to bareminerals I could never find a decent one so I then decided not to wear face make-up and on a daily basis I don't, unless i'm going places where i know people will be taking pictures no matter how much i run away from the camera, so I decided I had to find a decent one and when scouring makeup blogs and guru's channels I heard Revlon's Colourstay foundation being highly praised and comparable to MAC so decided to check it out. As I have dry skin I got the foundation for normal/dry skin (their is also an option for oily skin) and found that if i apply this with a brush or sponge it drys too quickly so isn't very easy to blend so i like to apply it with my fingers and then buff in with a large face brush/powder brush. Overall I like this foundation it lasts all day and dries too sorf of a powdery finish but doesn't look cakey. I would like their to be more of a colour choice but it's a drugstore foundation so I guess that can be overlooked but my only problem with this foundation would have to be the packaging first off the glass bottle makes this heavier for travel and also with no pump it tends to leak all over my makeup bag when not stood up and a great amount ofproudct is lost around inside the lid and around the bottle.

Blue is not really a colour I like to use as I have heard so many people say it looks "tacky" so it kinda scared me away but everytime I have seen people wear it in my opinion i quite like it so I tried it out myself.

Nirvana Look ...

This look was based on my Nirvana T-Shirt. For this Look I used Bulletproof and Buttercupcake pressed eyeshadows from Sugarpill, L'oreal Double Extension Beauty Tubes Mascara, NO7 Amazing Eyes Pencil in shade 05 (for the upper lash line, waterline and lower lash line) and for the Lips I used MAC's Lip Conditioner and Nivea's lip care glamorous gloss.

Venomous Cosmetics Haul… Part IIII (Loose Eyeshadows)

Sadly this is the last part of my venomous cosmetics haul and I am going to review the loose eyeshadows if you would’ve asked me a month ago about glitter I would’ve cried after the experience I had with the Urban Decay Book of Shadows 3 (it made my eyes all itchy and got alll over my face) so I was a bit weary when venomous cosmetics sent me some loose eyeshadows to review as they were so glittery and sparkly when I got them out of the box

but I tried them anyway and the pigmentation was amazing the glitter did not irritate my eyes at all and there was hardly any fallout. They are also soo easy to blend, give amazing results and are long lasting.

Venomous Cosmetics Haul… Part III (Lip Poisons)

So this post is part of my venomous cosmetics haul and today it’s all about the lip poisons

if you have read my other two blogs on Venomous cosmetics then you will know i received these products for free but that will not affect my opinion. These Lip poisons truly are amazing they do not dry my lips out and are longer lasting than plenty other lip glosses I have tried. The texture is not greasy or too sticky and I feel as though they moisturize my lips as mine are very dry. The glosses are also amazingly pigmented in color. The only criticism I do have is that to get an amazing blue color off Sedated I had to apply 2 or 3 coats although I am not sure if this is my lip brush as i didn’t use the wands (because if they were good enough I was going to include them in my kit where i think they have secured their place).

Here are the swatches and pictures of how they look on the lips:

L-R: Love Potion #9, Sedated and Cupids Arrow

Love Potion #9 is a very deep red color (a lot deeper than on the picture my flash makes it appear lighter) and looks amazing with neutral make-up for that dark pin-up look.

Sedated is a very cool blue and as you can see on the picture looks rather streaky now i’m not sure if this is because i applied the color with a lip brush and not the wand but i still like it nonetheless.

and last but not least Cupids Arrow this is my favorite shade as I have never seen a pink gloss quite as pigmented this applies very smoothly and one coat does the job I recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Venomous Cosmetics Haul… Part II (Pressed Eyeshadows)

So carrying on from my last post these are the Pressed Eyeshadows I recieved:

Sorry the flash really washed out the white color (Box Jelly) but I like how this image shows the green irresecence glitter to the blackish color (Dragon).

These two are the full size eyeshadows i received and are a reasonable size (around the size of a 10 pence piece). The packaging I don’t think was very great as the shadow just came in the pans and considering I don’t own a palette they just go in my makeup kit in the zippy bags so they are being bashed around quite a bit although they haven’t chipped yet if I don’t get a palette soon it’s likely they will :( But on the other side this is an indie brand who have only recently gone live (as of last year) and the names of the shadows are on the back of the pans which I adore as when people ask what colors I am using i can easily tell them.

These are the sample pressed eyeshadows I received:

Green = Mermaid, Pink= First Love, Purple = Sea Urchin

Overall I love the shimmer and Pigmentation in these products I also love the texture and how easy they are to blend, they also have a very long staying power (with a primer) and don’t crease or haven’t stained my lids. The only criticism I have about the actual products is that Dragon is a very sheer black and not as pigmented as the rest but this can be built up or packed on it still has amazing staying power and is easy to blend though.

Here are the swatches so you can see for yourself although the flash differs some colors slightly but kind of shows the shimmer :D

Venomous Cosmetics Haul…(Intro)

So recently I have been on the lookout for indie cosmetic companies as I find the prices of higher end products are way above my budget and usually aren’t as good and it was suggested to me to look up Venomous Cosmetics, I did just that and automatically fell in love with the colors of all the glittery eyeshadows and lip poisons while searching through the site I found a contact page for bloggers so I got in touch with Tracy (The Owner Of Venomous Cosmetics) and a few weeks later on Valentines day I received a reviewer package, yes this was for free so to some people this review may seem bias but I promise you that this is my 100% honest opinion.

When I opened my package I found a letter from Tracy stating what products had been sent (kind of like an invoice), I loved this little touch as I suppose it adds more of a friendly, caring feel than commercialized brands as though a lot of time has been put into your order.

Look Using Venomous Cosmetics

So I have a few reviews coming up this week but I like to test the products properly before so here are some photos of the first look/test I did with my Venomous Cosmetics Package I recieved for free for reviewing purposes… So far so good they are so glittery I nearly passed out when I saw them anyways more on that later this week …
In this look I have used the shades mermaid, monster under your bed and pegasus as a brow highlight. For the lips I have used the sedated Lip Poison.

MeMeMe Cosmetics Review

After wanting to try out benefit’s high beam since forever I decided I wanted to get it on my next make-up trip, that is until I saw the price, So I went down to my local drugstore on the hunt for something cheaper and came across a box set of four products called Little Angels collection from a company called MeMeMe which consisted of a red and pink lip/cheek stain and two skinilluminators/highlighters and it was cheaper than just one benefit highlighter so I think I did good :D

The First Product I tried was the pussy cat tint.

I know it’s not what I bought it for but my friend wanted me too before she opened hers to see if it was any good, and it was it gives a darkish pink/red color on the lips and is an amazing light pinkish color on the cheeks but I do have a tanned olive skin tone so on somebody pale it might be a bit more red. I like to wear this as a cheek tint when I’m going to be out all day it works wonders adding color to your face quickly without fading off quickly.

The Second was the Poppy tint.

This is a good lip tint for me and draws with Benefit’s Poisetint(which I have tried, I got a free sample through a promotion a couple of months back and is amazing) but for a hell of a lot cheaper. I don’t use this product as a cheek stain because it doesn’t show up on my skin tone but a friend of mine tried it who has a rather fair complexion and it looked amazing on her and so natural so Yes I do recommend this as a dupe for Benefit Poisetint.

The Last were the Sunbeam and Moonbeam highlighters. Sunbeam is a dusky gold shimmery iridescence color.

Moonbeam is a pink shimmery iridescence color.

These are amazing highlighters and do their job perfectly giving a shimmery effect. I either use these under my brows as a highlighter if I’m going for a natural look and apply by using Benefits 3-Step highlighting method (which I was taught at a counter by one of the lovely benefit staff a few months back) which is too apply a few dots along the cheekbone up to the forehead and back down the side of the face and the jaw line and blend or I mix it with my foundation for a pearly kind of effect which I think looks amazing and gives a really nice overall glow.

As I have never tried any of the Benefit versions of these products except the pink lip/cheek stain I can’t let you know if they are good dupes but I do like the products very much and they do their Job amazingly, I would recommend these to everyone except Poppy tint unless it was being used for lips as I feel it doesn’t work at all on the cheeks for those with tanned skin but is fine for fair skin.

Sugarpill Pressed Eye Shadow (all 9) Review And Swatches

This is my first ever make-up blog on here so please excuse me if i ramble too much.

The excitement on my face when I opened my Sugarpill package on Christmas day was unbelievable, the packaging was out of this world and by far the prettiest I had ever seen, so much care looked as though it had been taken preparing this order, it even had a cute little note on my invoice, that i couldn’t wait to use the products especially with the looks on the postcard and brilliant reviews I had already heard from plenty of different make-up guru’s.

The product packaging boxes are just too cute (so cute that i don’t think i will ever get rid of them until i need new palettes). The palettes themselves are made of a cardboard material with a cute logo on the front and shadow names on the back, but are super strong and durable (i take these everywhere with me when traveling as as of yet no damage or wearing away), inside there is a mirror which makes the palettes a tiny bit heavier, but that doesn’t really bother me, as again it is great for traveling, as i don’t own a compact mirror. The single pressed eyeshadow comes in a plastic tub with the Sugarpill logo embossed on (not a sticker) which i love and makes them look so professional.The eyeshadows themselves are all pressed inside metal pans which are magnetic and you can depot (see my twitter for the link to an amazing guru (jazziebabycakes) video of this) making them easier for you to put in your own palettes.

Burning Heart Palette: Flamepoint (orange), Buttercupcake (yellow), Love+ (red), Poison plum (purple)

Sweetheart Palette : Dollipop (pink), Afterparty (blue), Midori (green), Tako (white)

Bulletproof Single Eyeshadow (black)

I opened the eye shadows and I couldn’t believe the intensity of the colors (for some reason my flash has washed out the colors, but the image is too blurry without the flash, they are a lot brighter in person) my first reaction was to take some swatches to see if the colors were as true pressed as they are on the skin and they were the colors were magnificent with primer and without.

These eye shadows have a rather nice velvety feel to them and blend effortlessly making them amazing for beginners (like me) most shades have a matte finish except poison plum, afterparty and midori which have an sheer iridescent finish. These shadows also do not crease with a primer and stay on all day, this is gonna sound bad and I know you shouldn’t but everyone has their lazy days right ? one night i fell asleep in them and woke up around 5 the next afternoon and my eyeshadow was still on not even smudged just shows how amazing they are.Love+ (the red eyeshadow) and Dollipop (the pink eyeshadow) do stain a tiny bit but nothing a bit of concealer can’t cover up and if I wear it all day and take it off at night the staining is gone by the next morning.

I had hardly ever wore eyeshadow before receiving these and have pretty sensitive dry/combination skin but now I wear these everyday, I have absolutely fell in love with them, therefore I am 100% sold on Sugarpill pressed shadows and cannot wait to try out their primer and chromalusts.
